Our loans officer has asked to get the Build and the Land contracts so that she can finalise the approval, but because we have to first sign off the build it will take about 1 week for the land to be transferred to us.

My wife has gone to pick up the revised plan and have given it to our solicitor to have a look at our build and plan contract, the cost is an extra $330 for advice.
Again the real-estate agent has advised to sign off the build in order for the land contract to be given to us.

April 21 2009

We had some issues with the Solicitor, who was very rude to my wife in speaking to the phone, so I decided to easily pull the plug out with them and not continue. They have not read the contract agreement since day 1 and are charging us $320 dollars just to glance through the building contract, when initially they said that advise is for free.

April 22 2009

We went to see our real estate agent, at 6:30pm at his house, which was very kind of him as it was also his day off, in order to discuss the building contract, plans, and specs. He was very good and helped us with every detail and answered all our questions removing confusions in the Contract, specs and plans.
Our real estate agent has also advised some recommendations such as adding a pipe line at the back of the fridge provision just in case in future we might buy a double fridge with a chilled filtered water tap. We have also decided to change our taps with flip taps instead of the common twist taps which is easier for the kids.

We found out the builder was also nice enough to extend our door from 1.8m to 3.4 meter sliding door.

He has also helped us in arranging a new Conveyancer dealing with our house since we had issues with our solicitor; at least this conveyancer has worked with the builder and understands the builder’s requirements.

At this point we have now signed off the plans, building contract and specs, we are now just waiting for the Land contract to be titled under our name, which we will receive next week. Once this is received I will hand this to our Loan officer to be processed and approved.
